The absence of pupils, nipples and a mouth, in the name of art, is less challenging than punctuation, of course.

One might assume, then, that apostrophe’s become similar to tattoo’s?

I don’t know, Miss…absence without context is a dangerous combination. I cant think of a specific example, but there has to be one in the writing’s of Kant.

It’s too bad that English isn’t fully infected. Then we’d only need apostrphes for contractions. In first grade we were taught to spell halloween with two apostrphes. It was 1952 but the school was at least 20 years behind. In 3rd grade we learned to use dip pens and ink wells.

Splendid artwork today. Maybe it’s the tattoos that make it captivating. Flowers all around, flowers in her hands, flowers in her hair.

(If I was antagonistic, I’d put apostrophes in all those plural words in my comment to drive both her and also me crazy.)

    …whatta ya want?…

    …good grammar…

    …or good taste?…

…don’t get me started on Presidents Day…

    … Presidents’ Day…

    …and President’s Day…

    …if it’s art?…

…is it necessary to be correct?…

    …I always told the kids…

…it’s ok to break the rules in art…

    …there can be nudity…

    …cussing…

…and otherwise not always socially acceptable things…

…because art is suppose to reflect society…

    …to comment on it…

…push the limits so we can question them…

… that doesn’t mean that we should do these things…

    …in every day life…

    …Dad, we’re nine…

    …my point exactly…

…no more cussing out the teacher…

Yes, but the addition of an apostrophe in a wood-worked sign touting the sale of “tamale’s” is worrisome.
