I grew up drinking whole milk that we got from our own cows on the farm. The cream of the milk would come up to the top as it set for awhile in the refrigerator, so we would shake the jar of milk before pouring it into our glasses to drink it.

I remember at least once skimming the cream off the milk, putting it into another jar, and (when we had enough) shaking it to make some homemade butter.

That show will curdle your blood.

We had home delivery of milk when I was a kid, by a little Divco truck. We had an insulated milkbox on the front porch My father told of when the milkman had a horse drawn wagon. When anyone on the route was away on vacation, the milkman still had to stop at their house and pretend he was making a delivery. The horse wouldn’t budge until he thought the milk had been delivered.

He wanted to kiss until the cows come home.
