That’s not tobacco…

Name it for what it is. Wasting company time. Do alcoholics get booze breaks?

When I first started teaching, there was a designated smoking area for students. My room was on the second floor. The designated smoking area was right below my windows. I was thrilled when the board of education came to their senses and removed it, but we did lose the only advantage. If the principal needed a witness to snitch of somebody about some transgression, all he had to do was close the smoking area until somebody came forward with information. The hard core smokers would race to the office to snitch.

Shouldn’t you have taken up doodling?

I always thought it unfair that smokers at work would go out every 1/2 hour to leave work and smoke in the parking lot while those of us who didn’t smoke worked a full day with a 1/2 or hour lunch. I was happy that the no smoking allowed on hospital grounds came about, but that didn’t stop them, they’d smoke in their cars because no one would come forward against them.

Can I still have tomacco on my salad as usual?

when my brother was in the service you either smoked or held the fire bucket while others smoked. he took up smoking which contributed to the heart attack that killed him.

… miss wasting time at work, or wasted missing time at work.

Odds are, they’re going to die in their 60s

We have a law that prohibits outdoor smoking within 25 feet of a door or a window that can be opened or closed. Dave’s coworkers seem to be in violation.

No smoking in this town, anywhere. Period

I quit when I was 5. It didn’t do anything for me.

Sooooo glad I never started. I did grow up breathing second hand smoke, though. My husband quit when our first child was born. So thankful for that. When my husband went to the hospital because of a heart attack, the question he was asked most often was ‘do you smoke?’.

When I was working, I had an assistant who smoked heavily. He’d go outside every half hour or so. I threatened my boss that I’d stop work and sit on my butt every 30 minutes. “Oh, you can’t do that!”

One company I worked for only allowed smoking in designated areas. The designated areas were at the building entrances. I showed them the state law forbidding this but they didn’t go anything until I threatened to get corporate legal involved.

Smoke, smoke them cigarettes……..

If we had lungs on the outside of our body maybe we´d take better care of them.

Cannot stand the smell! Tried it a bit in my early 20’s but the nicotine made me dizzy. The stink and taste was awful.

I remain neutral on this issue because I truly understand both sides … even though the paternal side of my family came from a long line of tobacco farmers which eventually financed my existence …!
