Maybe a biker dude is a good idea. He/she probably wouldn’t take the grief given the average substitute. I felt sorry for those who handled my classes. Mostly they never got past the first page of my lesson plans for having to fend off the excuses and evasions thrown up by 10th graders.
However, in his/her behalf, upon my not happily greeted return, I usually gave a pop quiz on the lesson plan, then reported the poor grades to the subs to provide them with a little satisfaction and a thanks for being there.
