Of course he landed on Oliver, it’s a safe place. We’ve all had cats that snapped at bugs that landed on them. Not Ollie. He’ll take it home and make it a sandwich.

I’ve seen a tiger swallowtail butterfly in my yard 3 times now, but it never stops for me to take any pictures. It just flies past me like it’s saying, “Look at me! Look at me! Don’t you think that I’m the most beautiful butterfly in the world?” And I have to agree that it is a beautiful butterfly. That’s why I want to take some pictures of it. Silly butterfly! Maybe if I can get Oliver to come for a visit, my butterfly would land on Oliver’s nose and I could snap all the pictures I wanted! Not just of a beautiful butterfly, but I’d get pictures of an adorable kitten as a bonus! Stay where you are, Oliver! I’m on my way to pick you up right now!!

    Today is:

LEAVE THE OFFICE EARLY DAY. I don’t work in an office. In fact, I don’t work at all today, so how can I leave early?

NATIONAL EGG DAY. Do Cadbury creme eggs count? I have just one left – left over from clearance Easter candy

NATIONAL REPEAT DAY. NATIONAL REPEAT DAY

    CHOCOLATE MACAROON DAY

    WORLD CYLISTS DAY

    From yesterday’s comments to Egrayjames

    Congratulations on being cancer free!

But I’m sorry about the loss of your doggie so soon after your other dog died. What the heck is going on round here, anyway? A person in my hometown had her 2 dogs die just 3 weeks apart. The first one was an elderly dog and his passing wasn’t a surprise. But then 3 weeks later, she was at the emergency vet (it was the weekend and the regular vet office was closed) with her other dog, who had internal bleeding. That was very unexpected and sudden. It turns out, he had cancer too. And another neighbor’s dog just recently died too. So many people’s dogs are dying! What’s going on?

I too have been seeing a swallowtail in my yard. Lucky little Ollie. Birds often land on ships far out to sea for a rest during migration.

Most of my wild milkweed is in bloom, but I’ve not seen the first monarch. The bees like it, though.

You got that right, Oliver. Not only is he such a sweet kitty, he’s also very understanding. I’ve always enjoyed seeing butterflies and dragonflies. They’re a sure sign that the weather is nice. On another note, saw eight robins, two rabbits, a woodpecker, and a chickadee while out walking today.
