My doctor told me that I was going deaf. That news was hard to hear.
Last week, my hearing aids were stolen. I haven’t heard a word since.(Seriously though, my hearing continues to worsen and I’m afraid that I won’t be able to understand any speech within the next 5 years)
Here in Texas we call that Selective Hearing! My Dad was a whiz at that!!! He never heard anything my mother wanted him to hear, but he heard what he didn’t need to hear.
yeah, but the best part about hearing aids is you can adjust the volume and people don’t know whether you’re listening or not. (nodding your head occasionally is of them all that’s needed)
Lost my hearing in my left ear, about 80%, and just recently found out that my right ear has a hole in the eardrum, and that I’m down a little in hearing in it too. I tried out the hearing aids in the doc’s office, didn’t like them. Everything sounded like a tin can. But the cost of them is what really determined me not getting them. If you talk to me, I have to ask you to talk to the right side, speak up, speak clearly, and don’t use long words…
A friend of mine recently waited until she could hear almost zero and finally got hearing aids. A few months into having them, she is kind of adjusting to using them. She sleeps better than she used to because noise doesn’t wake her up anymore, since the aids come out before bed. I hope I never need them, but if I do, I will get them.
I don’t trust Mother Gargle. I’d expect her to get those very inconspicuous hearing aids (easy to hide under that hair). Then she’d pretend she can’t hear anything while listening in to what everyone says about her — and plotting her revenge.
I’m surprised that no one here mentioned today’s Flo and Friends. Slightly different take on the same subject.

I’m sure a lot of people say not so nice stuff behind mother Gargle’s back anyway.

And probably nobody cares to hear what you have to say, either. (Wow, this woman beings out the worst in me!)

The lady often doesn’t even listen to what she says.

She certainly doesn’t want to hear what Brutus has to say.

She must be a member of the trump cult.

When people talk to me I wonder if they think my favorite phrase is
“Excuse me, could you repeat that?”

I thought bats were supposed to have excellent hearing.

What about your grandson? Of course, you might become like my mother. Become almost totally deaf and still expect others to speak up.

it’s the comments you’d enjoy giving out anyways. :}

I would like to be able to hear that bus before it runs me down though. (Why is it always a bus?)

Neither did he.

Agreed, Mother Gargle.

She could have perfect hearing and still not hear anything she doesn’t want to listen to

Too bad that mouth thing still works as good as ever. Can’t do anything much about that brain short of a lobotomy either…….

Just hold off on the hearing aids until after November.

Diminished hearing isn’t bad but when its coupled with tinnitus…
Brent Rosenthal Premium Member 6 months ago
She’s just like Rancid in that regard. And in other ways as well, now that I think of it. But it’s nice she’s not dissing Brutus for once!
cuzinron47 6 months ago
Once again Brutus is the loser, he could benefit from diminished hearing.
cuzinron47 6 months ago
And with the shrew’s diminished hearing, she will probably speak louder.

I have hearing aids and they have a clever option called the “Nag” button.
