We collaborate on the laundry. I do the darks, she does the lights and the “don’t wash that with your JEANS for godsake”. (She starts the laundry and I finish it). She does sheets, I do towels… and I fold the sheets and towels because I can… and she won’t.
Dirty laundry goes in the washing machine, then the dryer, then you put it away. Slightly more complicated than popping the top on a can of beer; but not much.
Laundry is a never-ending thankless job. You think you’re done, then every member of the family (say, 5 people) changes their clothes. 2 more loads of laundry.
I thought those were clean clothes and she wanted him to put his own clothes away. Throwing dirty clothes at him and hoping he will wash them is even more of a waste of time. He will probably sleep on whichever pile those are.

Earl’s initial comment to Nelson reminds me of the movie Mary Poppins where Bert tells Uncle Albert this joke to cheer him up:
It’s about me granddad. One night he had a nightmare … so scared he chewed his pillow to bits.
Next morning, I says, “How do you feel?”He says, “A little down in the mouth.”chris_o42 5 months ago

I don’t have issues with dirty laundry. Most of my laundry IS dirty laundry in varying stages. I have more issues with finding clean (enough) laundry!

My laundry is clean, it’s just sitting in the dryer until I work up the ambition to put it away.
