I set it to warn, not change my text. And I ignore it unless I’m not sure how to spell a word. Then… about 70% of the time… It doesn’t help anyway and I have to look at a real online dictionary. I probably have 1000 words in my “override spelling assistant” file. Not ones that it gets wrong, but words that it just doesn’t “believe in at all”.
I don’t mind those as much as I do the pop ups from some stores that require me to sign in and set up an account before I can just shop their inventory. Irritating.
Most of the time, autocorrect (I use it to suggest, not change) gets it right. However sometimes it can’t figure out what you want even when you are only one letter off. AI isn’t so “I” all of the time.
AI driven auto-correction is still in its infancy unable to discern the connotative/implied meanings and puns we sometimes utilize as it applies large collections of mostly denotative data.
Yep. It’s still incumbent on you to minimize its need to correct and to proofread before hitting send. It can have repercussions and reflects on your intent and intelligence.

Auto incorrect?

I’d rather do it my way with a red underline. Then if I want to I can fix it or decide I’m right.

How true. It used to be annoying when people would finish your sentence, but now a computer finishes your words … and gets it wrong to frequently.

But you can’t correct auto-correct UNTIL it “corrects” you so the premise is impossible.

I am trying to figure out how to turn it off. It takes twice as long to type something as it is almost always wrong!
