I lived in Florida 3 different times. I went North for vacation. People North goes South for vacation. Un Huh. Never ever will go to Florida again. Not even for a cruise or free trip. Gone Bonkers. Maybe the rising Sea will wash their cares away.
Ha! We lost our Mom a few months ago, (She was 90 and had a great life. She was ready) and what started as a “Tropical Depression” is now “Major Hurricane Beryl”! My prediction is that “Beryl” well cause NO Damage. Beryl wouldn’t hurt anyone!
The look on Brutus’s face in the last panel looks like it should be accompanied by a Vincent Price sounding “Bwaahaahaa.”!! But the confused look on Wilberforce should make Brutus reconsider dissing the boy’s grandmother to him…But hopefully he’s talking theoretically and they’ve never actually brought her along on a family trip. That would be a Category 5 storm! Btw “Tropical Depression” is a great song by Alan Jackson.
Brutus, you get half-credit for saying that to Wilberforce, who might not fully get it. Full credit accrues if you say it to Gladys, and extra credit if you say it right to Mother Gargoyle’s face. (Side note: you might want to take care that Wilberforce doesn’t repeat this witticism to either mom or grandma.)

Mixed emotions are what you have when you see your M-I-L drive off a cliff in your new car,

You got it backwards, Brutus!!! When Mother Gargoyle joins you on your “vacation,” it’s a ….. “Cat-5” hurricane!!!
;-P

Tropical depression is a Florida financial term for your economic status after visiting The House of the Mouse.

Mother Gargoyle joining the vacation is cruel and unusual punishment.

I would disagree. She’s more of a cat. 5.

My mother-in-law, God rest her soul, had the same effect.

For my personal protection, I refuse to comment in case if my wife might see my comment. OK, so I’m a coward, but I gotta live here too. ;-)

In my case it’s my wife who dislikes my M-I-L and I dislike my wife’s M-I-L.

Our hero has the right of it. Mother Gargle along on a family vacation would be depressing.

Next time y’all go to Disney World, leave her at home.

What’s the difference between a tropical depression and a hurricane?
With the oceans heating up, about 12 hours.
I’m looking at you, Beryl.

Having just returned from a vacation with my wife’s family, I can attest to the truth in that statement.
