And what is your primary concern? 1) the rule of law, or 2) keeping Trump from becoming president again. I thought so. With Dems, the end justifies the means.
I’ve turned my American flag upside down. The country is in distress. The Swamp contorted the rule of law to arrest a political opponent BECAUSE he’s a political opponent. This PROVES the country is in grave danger from a Democrat Party that will stop at nothing to keep its power. Where will we go from here?
This case goes to the core of who this pos really is: a common lowlife and an utter fraud, lying and bullying with impunity. His nauseating disrespect for women, his virulent hatred of minorities, and his utter contempt for any semblance of ethics are the qualities that appealed to the lurking mouth-breathing bigoted bullies among us that make up his base, and the facade of wealth and power propped up by a parasitic tabloid media duped the gullible beyond that base.
These dynamics are the origins of his political rise without which the greater crimes would not have been possible. What poetic justice that porn stars and botched paperwork, incompetent co-conspirators – simple sleaze, simple lies, and simple laziness – marks his first major branding of GUILTY.
Trump’s lawyers delayed and delayed. Why is that? To coordinate with his campaign, knowing his followers could be milked for even more $$$ to “save him”? A gamble that any verdict would help his campaign?
Trump ran for the GOP nomination knowing this result was a possibility. The GOP primary voters voted for him knowing this result was a possibility. Now, the argument seems to be, “well, he’s a candidate for president, therefore cannot be held accountable”. If the goal is the presidency, in their own words they’ll achieve it BECAUSE of this result that has them so enraged. So what’s the problem?
To an extent, I understand his victory in 2016: there was a backlash by many who felt ignored by the elites; he faced an opponent who, for whatever reason, was the source of a venom I have not seen in 40+ years of watching presidential politics and also ran a lousy campaign; and people believed that he was a successful businessman.
How that translates into NEW support is very hard to understand. He is only concerned with Donald Trump and cares for people only in as much as they are of use to him. And when you’re not of use, buh-bye. (Just ask Freedom Caucus head Rep. Bob Good (VA) among dozens of others.) His own words & actions should condemn him to the ash heap of history, yet here we are. SMH.
’I’ll take up arms if he asks’: Violent supporters line up behind Trump
As supporters of Donald Trump flood right-wing platforms with threats against the jurors and judge following guilty verdicts Thursday in his criminal case regarding hush money payments, fears are growing that the influence the Republican presumptive presidential nominee has over his supporters will soon lead to violence.
After 4 years of berating the CIA, FBI, the courts, the armed forces and nearly every person in government service (other than his sycophants), I fully expected that those who would outlast that administration would be sitting back sharpening their filet knives, waiting to gut him like a fish. They stuck in their steely knives, and still can’t kill the beast, but they wounded him. P*** off people of that caliber, and you’ve got a heap of trouble on your hands. Karma’s a b**** when you’re an a******.
Hey Lester, the flag should have been turned upside down when he was elected in 2016. He was charged and found guilty of violating the laws of NYS. Why do you hate the concept that the rule of law applies to everyone. Do you have a family member or close friend that ran afoul of the law and was incarcerated?
Meanwhile, in the real world of facts, MSNBC reporters Alicia Menendez and Evan Brechtel expressed, in their opinion piece regarding Trump’s conviction as a felon, the following list of his wrong-doings:
“This is, after all, a man whose apartment buildings were the target of a 1973 racial discrimination case, who bragged on tape about being able to grab women by their genitals, whose charitable foundation was dissolved after acknowledging it improperly coordinated with his political campaign, whose real estate training program settled class-action lawsuits over misleading practices, whose chief financial officer pleaded guilty to tax fraud and perjury, who allegedly (with incontrovertible evidence) improperly kept and stored classified documents and who peddled lies that the election was stolen, allegedly (with incontrovertible evidence) pressured officials in crucial states to deliver him a false victory and, (with incontrovertible evidence) waited hours into a deadly attack on the Capitol to call off his supporters.”
Add to that 30,000+ published lies during his former administration. And let’s not forget his (already confirmed and penalized) 10 episodes of violation of a restraining order. And his thousands of on-going lies since he left office on 20 Jan 2021, including all his lies about “being guilty of NOTHING ILLEGAL!!!” And now, 34 convictions for felony fraud and intent to influence a US election. But wait! THERE’S MORE!
We also must take into account his losses in both civil trials against E. Jean Carroll, and his loss in civil trial regarding improper property evaluations to obtain tax and lending benefits. For all of which he also lied while he claimed innocence.
That’s quite a laundry list of incontrovertible reasons NOT TO vote for Donald J. Trump Sr. on 05 November 2024. He simply can not be trusted to hold the reins of Presidential authority in his tiny hands, regardless of his and MAGA’s prolific propagandist assertions to the contrary.
Remember this: Trump was convicted of crimes related to the 2016 election vs. Hillary, 8 years ago. Not 2020 and not 2024. 8 years! Why wait 8 years? Because they apparently can in NYC if Trump gets out of line, like attempt to run for president again.
The Republican convention can nominate a felon, even one in prison. They can nominate whoever they want if otherwise qualified. What is the Dems next trick? Felons can’t be on the ballot? The Supremes are going to be very busy this summer. So much for long vacations on millionaire’s boats for certain justices.

Hey, look at it this way… Mr. Trump is 1/3 of the way through the indictments he’s facing. That’s progress.

Pandora’s Box is now open. The only partial remedy I see is for Trump to win the Presidency. The whole country will pay for this for generations.

I can understand why Trump fans would want to send a signal of distress. Their narrative that Dear Leader is above the law is crumbling.
