I was able to do all mine online this year. Including renewing my driver’s license! And without any screw ups. It felt like the opposite of the twilight zone!

…………and when you get to the window you are told that you needed to bring something or other that you didn’t know about.

In the UK it’s super easy. All done online. It checks your insurance and MOT and if all is good, takes the payment and it’s all done. Just takes a couple of minutes.

Now, stand against the wall for your id picture. which you’ll have to hide for the next six to ten years.

They want you to do more online. But show up with a birth certificate to get the “Real” thing. We don’t want undocumented, we want them licensed & insured, & picking strawberries for less than citizen workers could demand. Deportation is a pretty good crime deterrent in those neighborhoods.
