There’s always next season. We’ve been getting that for over 20 years here. Our baseball team finally delivered, big time. They even gave them a parade.
My father was the super athlete. He lettered in seven sports in his (admittedly small) high school. I lettered in choir. My two years in Little League were the most miserable time of my life and that even beats a miserable 20 year marriage. That’s how bad it was and I was. Couldn’t throw and at the plate, I either got walked or went down on three called strikes. I don’t think I ever took one swing. Too scared but I’m not sure now of what. My father let me quit after two years (or maybe the coaches begged him to get me out).

I was third team bench one year. I took the hint and got on with my life, lol.

Poor Skylar! Our solution was to play the least athletic (me) at first base or right field.

Skyler sometimes seems to be the avian equivalent of Charlie Brown.

At least he didn’t say “Try taking up tee ball.”

In football (soccer) he’d likely be “left back” in the changing rooms

Reminds me of this Golden Oldie:
_What did the cannibal baseball manager do with his worst player?
He sent him back to the minors for more seasoning.

Is his coach planning to quite before then?
