I remember that. Was in Germany at the time at my grandparents house. We stayed up all night watching the landing and then waited for Neil to exit the capsule.

I watched every minute of it I could. My father even set up his tripod and camera to take pictures of the TV when it happened.

It was second grade. We were excited because we got to watch tv instead of lessons. I’m afraid the significance was lost on me at the time.
