I hear ya, Pig. I have learned to tell myself aloud, “You’re overthinking again. You don’t have to do that if you don’t want to.”

Liberal Democrats spend 85% of their time worrying about Trump especially after the Dumpster Fire Debate that ended with President Jill helping The Walking Corpse (who should be in assisted living rather than the White House) off the stage and 14% of their time coming up with ways to Defend, Deflect and Deny was was painfully obvious and has been for years, really. “Joey had a cold”. The other 1% is thinking about what to order at Starbucks. God Bless America

I saw an ad for an online show Mom Squad that said mom’s made 35,000 decisions a day or about 1 every 2 seconds if you skip sleeping. I questioned this and was directed to a study that says EVERYONE makes 35,000 decisions a day. So when do we have time to do anything, all weird stuff.

I saw ‘Inside-Out 2’ over the weekend and had a bit of an epiphany. 50 or so years ago I let anxiety take over my brain, and very rarely have I let joy back in. I’m going to have to work on that.

The excellent new book from Jonathan Haidt, The Anxious Generation, details how smartphone usage has essentially rewired the youngest generation so that they no longer have extensive experience with human contact. Early in the book he distinguishes between fear (of actual threats, a good thing) and anxiety (concern about possible future threats, including many with very low probability) and points out that anxiety (and accompanying depression) among teens has skyrocketed since they all became addicted to their on-line existences.
