Nothing makes a parent feel older than hearing one’s children reminisce!!

I guess Elly prefers the days when her children were too young to remember the past.

Not quite sure Elly & friend should be behind a door unostentatiously listening to the boys’ conversation. At this age, the young men may have tales to tell that mothers really shouldn’t be privy to!

Or seeing their children given black balloons at their 40th birthday.

I remember the 9 PM curfew horn that sounded in our town. We were warned by our parents that, no matter where we were, we had 5 minutes to be in the house. Talk about some fast footwork …

We did the same, parents never worried where we were. Way before the days of even beginning video game systems. Who wanted to stay inside all day?

Off hand question here. In the fourth panel the mother beside Elly, with the brunette hair color similar to Michael’s hair color, is supposed to be Lawrence’s mother, Connie Poirier?

But wasn’t she a blonde when she visited a day earlier?

How about realizing our favorite songs are more than 50 (or 60, or dear God no!) years old.8 days from now we will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. Right now I am heading up to the local Maverik convenience store for more on job training. Life is a cabaret, eh? I don’t think I’m fond of cabarets!

I seem to remember being a kid and reminiscing about things that had happened ridiculously recently with that same wistfulness.

And this is why “Nostalgia” was included as a new emotion (though with a small role) in the new Inside Out movie. I read that the teenagers the writers worked with insisted they did have these kind of fond memories.

Those children born today in 1969, Moonwalk Day, are now 55 and considered by many businesses eligible for senior citizen discounts and other perks.

I’m lucky I never killed myself considering all these extremely dangerous things I did as a kid and teen.

Lawrence is right about summer going by fast. It used to go nice and slow when I was a kid.

And another thing:

I remember going back to school in September, but kids today are going much earlier! What the heck, man?!

And sitting around doing nothing while going on about how busy they are.
