Most “Intervention” technics start out this way. Putting you off by accusing you of being in Denial of any kind of problem. This gets you to Defend yourself. The Defense becomes compound with them continuing to Gaslight. At that point they have you so off balanced that they could say anything and accuse you of being Out of Control. From there it is all down hill for the target.
