Indoctrinating children is just wrong. Right Mr. Goodwyn, bringing them into your religious cult is okay. Train them to hate those who are not like you and don’t believe the same things you do.

TRUMP CONSIDERS THE TEN COMMANDMENTS AS A CHALLENGE LIST AND HE SPECIALIZES IN VIOLATING THE 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th COMMANDMENTS.

THEY SHOULD BE DISPLAYED WITH A LARGE ASTERISK  BY EACH ONE FOR EACH TRUMP VIOLATION.

First, the Ten Commandments are not listed as five and five. In fact, the Catholic version is three and seven and the Protestant version is four and six. Second, the cartoonist must object to clowns as well as drag queens for reading stories to children or be exposed for hypocrisy. In both, sex is not mentioned nor implied.

The cartoon starkly shows the difference between the Republicans and Democrats. Republicans want to conserve the foundation of Western culture and law. The Democrats want to destroy it.

The Ten Commandments do not belong in government schools. Neither do drag queens.

I haven’t heard of any drag queen molesting a child. Just learmed about the pastor of a local mega church who molested a child for years. Think about all the priests and pastors who have molested children. Think of all the other people straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel. Go back and read the original documents by the founders about how they were determined to separate church and government because of all the wars fought in Europe over which brand of Christianity should be in control. Public schools are for everyone and supported by tax money. That’s a government entity. Separate it from church.

Way more children were assaulted and abused by people who believe in the Ten Commandments then were ever hurt by a Drag Queen. Practitioners of Christianity are hardly the examples for good that you make it out to be.

Words on a wall are meaningless. How people act and the example they set are way more important.

Sure, as long as the tenets of other world non-Judeo Christian religions are also displayed in classrooms.

The governor has enacted a theocratic mandate It applies to every public school in the entire state of Louisiana, with no choice available.

In every school.

In every classroom.

In every grade.

Every school day.

No choice exists for any public school student or their parents, regardless of their religious affiliation.

My kids are far from elementary school. Both of them were taught that there are a variety of superstitions out there that people believe, and that most of the organized superstitions are about power and control.

The 10 Commandments are the foundation of Western civilization’s laws. They are fundamental to Judaism, Christianity, and even, to some extent, Islam.

It’s odd that Christians want to post the 10 Commandments (Protestant version, of course, not the Catholic or Jewish version), when they don’t go to church on the Sabbath Day, but the day after.

By the way, the Bible NEVER calls those “The Ten Commandments.” The only thing called the “Ten Commandments” in the Bible are a DIFFERENT set of 10 commandments in Exodus 34:10-28.

It is interesting in the ten commandments at least god does admit there are other gods. He just wants to be the number one god. Read them and tell me I’m wrong. The first sever commandments also make god come off as incredibly insecure. He/It wouldn’t need those if he/it didn’t do so many crazy things. Like tell his loyal followers to murder their own son. Kill almost everyone, presumably on the planet when he/it gets frustrated with how they are acting. Interestingly, indigenous people other places don’t seem to have suffered from the same stories that were supposed to be global events. Weird, huh?

ChristopherBurns less than a minute agoThe founding fathers made the very first line of the very first amendment of the Bill of Rights – “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion”. They clearly wanted religion out of the government’s hands and government out of religions hands. The separation of church and state has been a principle of our country since it’s founding.

Apparently MAGAts only care about the Constitution when it suits them.

BTW – the Constitution has nothing at all to say about Drag Queens.

Even the Roberts’ Supreme Court will not violate the 1st Amendment and will throw out that Louisiana law.

Are yall really this dumb or just like trolling? The problem is not the 10 commandments the problem is passing a law that mandates that they be displayed. That is literally passing a law respecting an establishment of religion. The first line of the first amendment to the constitution … the constitution that you all are supposed to love and respect so much.

The 10 Commandants need to be posted at Mar a Lago and the RNC, obviously they have never read them.

l believe the Louisiana law will be struck down as has been done before in Van Orden v Perry (Texas capitol) and in Stone v Graham (Kentucky schools). Louisiana shouldn’t make it past Federal district court to be overturned. I doubt it will be necessary for the Supremes to bother.

Just curious Al, are you going to understand how big of a hypocrite you are when you’re okay with the MAGA demand that every classroom has a picture of the Orange Fuhrer in it? Considering Republicans don’t follow half of the 10 Commandments and are fully in support of children starving, how about you all follow all 10 before demanding someone else do the same? Oh wait, that’s not how White Christian Nationalism works.

And let parents choose what prayers for them to say in school.

False equivalence, but what else should we expect from Goodwyn? The thing on the left (an unfunded mandate; they require schools get outside organizations to provide the materials) is required by law now despite violating the US Constitution. The thing on the right is not, does not violate the Constitution, and also isn’t happening in schools (it’s something that occasionally happens in public libraries and privately owned bookstores, not schools).

False comparison. No mention of drag queens in the Establishment Clause.

The drag queen would be kinder, gentler and more compassionate than any of the bozos putting up the commandments…
