Years ago, an old neighbourhood friend stopped by, driving a fancy sports car (Lotus Europa). He had just mustered out of the armed forces and told me of his adventures at Canadian bases overseas. He was always known as a “teller of tall tales,” but when he claimed he had gone mountain climbing with Sir Edmund Hillary in the Alps …. well, that was the frosting on the “BS cake.”
