Still biding my time, waiting on Becky to clop up Walt’s street.

Speaking of yard projects, a lovely, low-humidity day left the narrator out tending to the grounds much of the afternoon – which both cut down on comic prep time, and encouraged an evening nap. So it’s a Short cup of classic comics poured for the 2nd:
Everyone continues to act like nothing’s really wrong at the Cigar Factory, as owner Billow Puffmore seems to have given up on hanging himself, but now needs to build up an insanity defense for when the cops catch up to his heinous crime spree.
Clovia stops by the garage for reasons unknown, but it give Slim a chance to introduce her to the only tangible leftover of their near marriage. Who will get custody of the calf, and do we need a lawyer to settle the tenderloin rights?
The ONLY reason it is not R&J doing the work is they have no phone to call to. An instance where being waaay behind the times is a hindrance to getting work.

Somehow, I can’t shake the idea that it’ll be the two rubes who will finally be trying to remove the fallen tree.

He cracks a joke about hiding the tree, then complains “Everybody’s a comedian”? Sheesh!

Sounds more like “Cheatem and Howe” to me.
