If i want to watch fairly impressive rockets with explosions, I can turn on the screensaver FIREWORKZ. No sound but quite spectacular if i turn up the settings.
I heard them all last night. Drunks, car horns and fireworks. Fireworks illegal in NC and drunks driving also. Where’s a cop when you need one? Home trying to sleep or Dunkin Donuts?
We just got too dang old to go to the fireworks, so we enjoy them now on TV. You don’t get the “thud” in your chest, but New York’s are pretty good to look at.
No. It’s never as good as being there in person regardless of the screen size or a superlative sound system of which he has neither, it would appear. I am sad to be missing them myself. I am in Tel Aviv at the moment. Mission was a success.Tried to follow you on occasion with limited success. Coming home in two days…….
I feel the same way about this as I do about watching Buckeyes football these days. No lines at the restroom or refreshment stands. All the treats you want add to order without wait and for no extra cost. Free parking without fighting the traffic. No drunks falling around you. And you’re home immediately after they’re over. What’s not to love?
Just came back from watching the Aurora Ohio fireworks. Parked about a quarter mile away. It was a spontaneous decision as we we’re babysitting the grandkids. Easy in easy out. I’m just posting because on the way home we discussed it was still better than TV fireworks.

Fireworks are like video games: Fun to watch, more fun to play! Happy 4th!

Yes, they are not nearly as loud, and the music is a lot better.

All I can think of is Hubby’s migraine from sitting in the stands.

Beats fighting crowds and having to arrive 6 hours before dark to find parking.

I thought they were watching the 1960s Batman TV show.

But it’s safer, when you consider a mass shooter wanting to make a name for himself. Sad, but true.

I took my youngest daughter to see fireworks last night. I agree, watching on TV isn’t the same. Of course this applies to a lot of things.

It may not be the same but there are a lot less insect bites.

Have always felt that way. Never bother watching them if I can’t be there.

A big screen TV would certainly help, though.

True Brutus, but you also don’t have to contend with traffic and people, a good thing in my book.

Swap it with the Christmas Fireplace vid, or the 12-hour aquarium if you can’t stand the excitement. Have fun, play safe everyone.

I prefer fireworks on TV.

True but not having to worry about finding a decent parking space or mosquitoes makes it good enough!

Brutus should head on over to the Next Door Neighbors strip. Fireworks are going off there, more way than one.

It’s better. You can’t mute the real thing.

I don’t know, you’ve got a good parking spot, have choice seats and you don’t have to stand in line to get to the bathroom, what’s not to like.

I’m with Brutus on this one. My wife and I both enjoy going to see fireworks in person, but she also likes watching them on TV. I don’t see the point.
Also, when I go to see them in person, I always take pictures. I’ve gotten some remarkable shots over the years.
