Is Arlo and Janis now a geezer comic strip? From some of the comments I’m beginning to wonder just how old the typical reader needs to be to get the content.

Not old, just reasonably intelligent. Which is something that too many people aren’t these days – Especially the younger folks out there due to the “education” system now.

It’s not a bad idea to put the cart before the horse after you’ve cleaned the wheels.

Oddly enough, I’m currently reading a biography of FDR and just finished the section on D-Day.

But it did begin in France, if France hadn’t collapsed and needed rescuing…

It’s going to take Operation Fortitude to be a success.

Operation Overlord was actually a disaster. BUT…it DID precede the invasion at Normandy and set the wheels in motion for the liberation of Europe.

Jimmy has dragged this arc out FAR too long. Either move to the coast, or stay in the house you have. Quit waffling and dragging it out forever.

Off topic: How many years ago did JJ shut down his blog?

They just need to find a clothing optional community on the beach.

Personally If A&J move to the coast more arcs will be involving the kids. Maybe JJ is looking for more ideas but again personally it will be the death toll

Wonder if hurricane Beryl is making them rethink this whole idea?

Your kid and his family are there and apparently you have never worked, and it is the BEACH! Easiest decision in the world.

I still say the right move is to get a short-term rental in a home that approximates what they might want to buy, and live there for at least a few months.

If they can afford it, of course.

If Arlo isn’t careful, they my wind up moving to a place where the only transportation is a horse and cart. No autos allowed!

What didn’t get done that they wanted to do? Did they actually expect to buy a house while they were there?

And as soon as I got done commenting here, I read the July 2 BC comments (sorry, that’s BC for July 2, not 2026 years ago!) and it’s a similar subject with a whole different "vib"e! (Is that the proper hip and with it word?)

Ah! I didn’t know that D-Day was called Operation Overlord. I had to look it up!

Born at the start of the baby boom in Canada, I had a fairly good history education at a private school. We tended to get bogged down at Confederation (1876), with perhaps brief discussion of Canada’s heroic efforts in the World Wars. We did spend a year on highlights of European history. I was fortunate to have a somewhat eccentric history teacher in high school who introduced us to some of the more humanistic and political aspects of history, rather than just a list of dates and names.
