I’m surprised half off it didn’t end up on the sidewalk, given it was resting against it. That’s usually how this works in my experience of running over things.
Initially, I couldn’t tell what it was in the second panel. Going back I can see the cap is flipped up but the face of the tube is toward us- I guess so we can tell it’s the hole for the sunscreen.
I think SMERSH would be a good sound effect here, but it is also the Soviet counterspy agency in the old James Bond novels, and we don’t want any hassles with lawyers or Russian agents…

There is no “best” way. There’s only “more boring.”

The bottle has a wobbly pain star. Seagull is checking it out.

Probably uses same technique on anything that needs squeezing. Mom and dad always thinking I could have sworn we just bought the item.

How you get it on is just step 01. Step 02 is how you spread it around. Summon the trained, genetically modified ant-applicators!

I can imagine Wallace, on the ground, sighting alongside the tube, having Spud stand EXACTLY where he intends on standing.
“Ok Spud, hit the tube HERE at precisely 88 miles per hour! We’re gonna see some SPLRP!”

If there’s a better way to apply sunscreen I don’t want to know.

Hmmmm, I’ve always pictured Spud riding with training wheels.
