Looked at the situation and said, “You borrowed the tent?” “Yes” "Never set it up before? “Yes, your point?” “Well, you are missing the most critical piece of framing.” It was one of those tents that had two small cross-pieces at the top and they were missing the one with the U-bolt. I got a branch, my machete and whittled a replacement. Tied it to the other cross-piece and showed them how to finish the job.
