While I get not starting with beef wellington (or ending with it) I do question having them clean everything first. Like.. at last have them bake some bread or something or teach them some fundamentals. Making them clean up after themselves is fine but it’s weird to .. start with that? Maybe i’m wrong. Maybe it’s changed since I was in middle school (It was called home ec then).

What next? They get taught how to boil water?

Until you remember to use the lemon-scented dishwashing liquid instead of the citrus-scented type, you will not be ready for the Kumite.

I preferred shop class to Home Ec. More cute guys. I DID learn to change a head gasket tho. These days I leave that to pros while I bake.

Well, if one day they are cooking in a restaurant, they take away that the first thing is to have a clean kitchen.

I’m not always sure that’s a first consideration in some eateries. my two cents

The Welllington with three Ls reminds me of a political campaign for some guy in Placerville, CA. He had hundreds of bumper stickers made up but had to trash them because his name was spelled “WILLLIAMS”.

I’m not sure Wellington will be in the school budget, at least the real thing.

We probably already know what they will be making: chili, fish tacos, potato leek soup, and mac & cheese
