And yet your preferred Repubs will do nothing to stop, let alone slow climate change. Nope, they will destroy the earth for the opportunity of the wealthy to buy one more yacht to add to their collection.
Suck it up. This week the temps in Phoenix will hover around 110. We’re just getting started on our way to the old record of 123, but it’s a dry heat. Ha, not this week. The monsoon rains are starting and it gets hot and sort of humid around here with an evening dust storm thrown in just to mix things up. Does anywhere have perfect weather?
Prosecutors in Arizona could reasonably press homicide charges against big oil for deaths caused by a July 2023 heatwave, lawyers wrote in a new prosecution memorandum.
“[T]he case for prosecuting fossil fuel companies for climate-related deaths is strong enough to merit the initiation of investigations by state and local prosecutors,” the document says.
The memo, published by the consumer advocacy non-profit Public Citizen on Wednesday, concludes that the state could pursue reckless manslaughter or second-degree murder claims for the extreme weather event that killed hundreds of residents and which climate scientists found would have been “virtually impossible” but for the climate crisis, caused primarily by the burning of fossil fuels.
And remember, voters, the Dotard promised lots of return on investment for oil companies if they would just add $1 billion to his campaign. Getting rid of safety regulations and approving pipelines (remember, every pipeline leaks eventually, no exceptions) mean more profit for them and more risk for the rest of us.
Yeah, he’s on the side of the little guy. You can tell.

Yes, a portent of things to come, especially in the southern half of the USA. More extremes of heat, flooding, droughts, tornados and wildfires. Get used to it; it will get worse before it gets better. And EXPENSIVE, too — like the cost of homeowners’ insurance.

The guy with the umbrella isn’t drawn accurately. Should have a blond comb-over and a MUCH bigger belly. Smaller hands too.

This is what decades of Republican science denial and delusions gets you. Maybe not voting for more of it would be a good idea.
