She should wait until the sofa gets repossessed. Then she can ask him.

Getting a job and helping with the bills would probably improve her disposition. On the other hand she’d faint right out.

A classic: Andy and Flo are in the pub, and Flo decides to call it a night.

Andy: “Twit, yer don’t have to work tomorrow. Here’s to yer day off.”

Flo: “And here’s to yours, all 365 of them!”

Andy turns to the reader and comments, “She can get mean when she’s had a few.”

Andy needs to be careful and not say that aloud!

Every time I read this strip (as much as I love it) I think to myself that being a spinster is bloody fantastic!

The old Andy Capp strips have been criticized for being politically incorrect, what with Andy smacking Flo around and all. Arguably, this criticism is justified. However, the fact that it was established early on that Flo was the one who went out and worked (at a time when married women having jobs was frowned upon) does make the vintage Andy Capp comic seem a little progressive for it’s day

AHA! Epiphany! And a whole NEW direction for the strip!! Andy actually gets a JOB!!
