Cons recognize that many have become “institutionalized” & can’t function on the outside. They get arrested to go home where they feel they belong (the last time he was paroled, Charlie Manson warned them not to let him out). I knew a guy who’d get busted because prison had better healthcare. As they say, “It’s all bad.”
Being institutionalized is a common thing. In my corrections career it was common for inmates to be released and intentionally violate their conditions of release so they can come back.
