Real Plugers use Super Glue. Developed as an adhesive during WWII, it was used by medics in Vietnam to close wounds and get wounded soldiers back to the medical stations and surgeons. >
Usually, when I ding myself in the garage or wherever, it’s too much hassle to unwrap Band-aids. I’ve used all kinds of whatever was handy at the moment like paper towel and electrical tape. I have a first aid kit that I know for certain I haven’t opened in over 20 years.
We have all sizes and shapes of “Band Aids” and generic. They don’t stay on. Have tried using the liquid they sell to keep them on (husband was director of a children’s agency so he knew about same) – doesn’t work on me.
One problem for me is my fingers are too small. When I put one on a finger there is almost no glue sticking to my finger as the two ends overlap so much.
Tried liquid bandage – nope, peeled right off my fingers.
A couple of days ago husband read that one should split the ends (coming in towards the pad) and put each of the wings formed by cutting onto the finger on an angle. He hurt his finger and tried this – he has normal size fingers. He was so excited about the idea and solving my problem (he loves to solve problems of mine for me) – but half an hour later it had fallen off.
So how does anyone keep the darn things on their fingers for more than half an hour or so?

So do I they have all of the sizes in there and they come in handy as I get older and more clumsy.

“New Skin”, liquid bandaid, for most small wounds.
Stings like a son-of-a-peach but works.

They also wonder when they stopped putting them in the little tin box.

cuts and scrapes make bandages a badge of honor. they show you’ve been working instead of sitting around watching TV or on the internet

I’ve found the large size (2″×4″) work best to keep me from leaking blood over everything.

I told my wife that men cut themselves while working so we can show we were doing something.

I wear gloves when ever I can. Saves on getting cut and scraped as well as avoiding splinters.

Some of us are allergic to the glue they use on them. Makes covering small cuts difficult.

Extra large box of band-aids or box of extra large band-aids? Either works, actually.

From today’s Comics Curmudgeon:
Pluggers are simply covered with oozing sores and open wounds. And not little ones, either!
