Also, I’m pretty sure earwigs don’t fly.

Cannot think of earwigs without thinking of the ear bugs from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan! Kept waiting for Ricardo Montalban to mention “rich Corinthian leather”.

I had one crawl in my ear while I was living in a tent on a rural construction job. The little feet scrabbling next to my eardrum freaked the heck out of me. One of my colleagues shined a flashlight in the ear cavity and it fled the light.

They’re commonly found in ears of corn.

Earwigs are for people who like hairy ears.

How can you go back to nature if you were never there?

Earwigs have given me the cauld grue ever since my Dad sprayed a wooden swing that we had, and a thousand or more poured out through the cracks. Finding that I had killed one by placing my toothbrush onto its electric handle didn’t help.

Earwigs got the name because when their wings are completely unfolded they’re shaped kind of like ears, it has nothing to do with going into people’s ears

Overnight campout in 8th grade. Bug in my ear during the middle of the night. We saw it was an earwig when it was removed and put in a pill bottle.
