Well we did it. The hottest temp ever recorded in Las Vegas…118. I sent a picture of my thermostat to Queen showing that it was 120 in my side yard. And lucky us, more of the same for a few more days. I filled the bird bath twice today, just so the water stayed cool. There was a steady stream of birds getting a drink.
Chesney, there is another thing that you forgot. Good common sense! You have it soft with Annie taking care of you and feeding you and loving you (even though you are a thoughtless, thankless, inconsiderate little brat). Countless numbers of stray and feral cats would give anything to trade places with you. Learn to appreciate Annie for all she does for you and you will be a much happier cat.
Chez, go take a nap. Molly and I left before 4, got on a trail in Mammoth by 5:30 and hiked in the coolness of 8500 feet elevation to a small lake. I am NOT used to having to use a leash and really missed my hiking poles but we did it. Lots of training in our future.
Next thing you know, he’ll be asking for money for a plane ticket. I doubt Chesney will be gone long, but you never know. On another note, saw a squirrel, a sparrow, three rabbits, two juncos, and a robin while out walking today.

And lunch money. And hotel money.
It’s easier to just stay home.

Today is:
NATIONAL RASPBERRY DAY
NATIONAL FREEZER POP DAY. I like regular Popsicles better than freezer pops, so I’ll stick with those. And Creamsicles too!
NATIONAL CHOCOLATE WITH ALMONDS DAY. I don’t like almonds in my chocolate.
NATIONAL VIDEO GAME DAY

“I’m moving out mom. I need money for rent, first and last month, cleaning deposit, groceries and cab fare.” Clueless-entitled
