Yes, Chase—some people DO deserve that! And you’d know that if he was YOUR father!

What is wrong with dying alone? I’m not expecting anybody to die with me and I don’t want to make anybody sad. That’s just me

It was a question. He means it wasn’t a real question, but rather a rhetorical one.

Does he even want you there, Mark? Seems like he’s trying to make you leave. Just engage a new nurse before you go.

Genetic relationship and emotional relationship are completely, well, unrelated.

Some people aren’t happy unless they’re making others unhappy.

Pleasantly surprised at Chase’s show of compassion. But then, Chase may have had a human father.

“He’s just a bitter, mean old man!” I feel a Trump joke coming on.

Which is better, to regret doing something or to regret not doing something?

I hope to die at sea. My surviving friends and family can use the money saved to party, hopefully in my memory.

My dad and I agreed on politics and baseball but hardly anything else. He was not a nice guy and took pride in it.

I said goodbye to my dad over a cell phone in a restaurant, my company wouldn’t give me leave until he died. Don’t know if my words made a difference or not, brother said there were tears in his eyes, wishful thinking.

My mother waited to die until I was not there. Perhaps, because I was the one who advocated for her life until the very end! Once again, the Doonesbury comic strip brings real life out into the open, and invites readers to engage!

That’s one of those ideas that works well in theory, but can be problematic in execution.
