The last lines of Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot” are…
Well, shall we go?
Yes, let’s go.
[stage direction] They do not move.
This strip today echos the echo chamber dialogue of “Waiting for Godot” in that there’s almost no background and no action. One of the funniest comments about “Nancy” is that the panels could largely be rendered with rubber stamps and few (or zero) details added.
Often, Bushmiller’s art reaches the vanishing point. There may be only speech balloons floating above a blinding snowfall or a wall or fence hiding any other images with the explanation that the artist is too lazy to draw anything.

Sluggo’s eyelashes blow out in panel 1, and he turns into Don Rickles in panel 4.

As for Nancy and Sluggo?
They do not move.

Reminds me of when, on labor day, Bushmiller would draw the two in a pool, saving the labor of drawing their bodies.

If you could see their bodies today, you would see that they are walkin’ in the R Crumb ‘Keep on Truckin’ style.
