Good old boys could have good old days…..couldn’t they?

Yeah—what if?

Were you anticipating something else?

They’re definitely going to be somebody’s

They will soon be.

They made a song about that.

Talking about “the good old days” is a symptom of the disease nostalgia if you believe that waving a fairy wand will turn the country back to an imaginary past and everything will be perfect again. (Go to any point in the past. People were always complaining “things used to be better.” Get your head out of whatever dark orifice where they are currently located and look to the future.)

The other theory is “the good old days” were created, in part, as a psychological defense. We repress the bad memories and forget how hellish things were. (“Ah. World War II. Good times. America had a common goal. Sweet.” – Ask anyone in world during the war years if those were the good old days.)

Paul Harvey always said that the good old days are right now.

Carly Simon says they are. Good enough for me.

They are.

They rarely seemed that way at the time when we were young. As we age, we recognize them more as they come.

According to the book of Revelation, these are the good old days.

I sometimes get nostalgic for the late 80’s when I was just pout of college and never had enough money.

For some, that may be true. As for me, with the Lord by my side, each day is good.

Whenever it is, it’s never the good old days, but it always will be.

The good old days are much better in memory than reality.

The word “DOOM” comes to mind……

As bad as 2020 was with the pandemic, compared with the Biden/Harris administration 2020 seems like the good old days.
