Don’t pick up after him! Tell him that anything not in the hamper will not be washed. He’ll learn how to find the hamper! As for the seat, you should’ve had him trained to put the lid down a long time ago.

The problem with women is that they are often mothers, and get used to ordering the progeny around, expecting and getting compliance. Then they treat the men like that too. I’ve known men who are neat and tidy, and women who leave their bedrooms (if not the rest of the place) looking like a cyclone hit it. It is rare that men in such conditions will nag, but women almost invariably do.Somehow, especially nowadays, women expect to get everything their way. It always has to be on THEIR terms, while they pretend that it’s a man’s world so that they can get even MORE control by bi*ching about it! My solution: if you really want the home to be tidy with everything in its place, then do it yourself and keep quiet. Men are always handy for other things, like cutting the grass, cleaning the car, often doing the shopping (or at least helping with it) – doing the heavy lifting, and generally being the one to go downstairs at 3AM if there are strange noises in the house. They are usually the ones who have to work long hours and put up with sadistic bosses and office politics (and keep their mouths shut) while the ladies have taken off years to look after the kiddies. (Once the kids are in school, unless they go back to work, have plenty of time for coffee clatches and yoga while the men are still putting up with the stresses of office life. Then they go home and get MORE nagging? NOT fair! As a retired man I notice that during the day 80% of the people out shopping, running, sunbathing in parks or the beach and quietly reading a book in cafés are invariably women… and I doubt very much that the dearth of men out and about during the day is because they are at home watching sports on tv. Nope: they are working themselves into early graves while the ladies (except single mothers) generally have it easier; not always, but generally.

It took getting a parrot, to get my husband to close toilets after use. (He is so worried the bird might fall in and drown.)

I don’t know why anyone would leave the seat up. They like microscopic matter being spewed around their bathroom when they flush?

I never could understand the toilet lid up or down argument. Is it so hard to put it down before you go? It’s just part of the ritual, I mean you have to pull your pants down to go. Does a guy get angry at himself if he has to #2 and the seats still up? Sheesh!

In English, “Never,” and, “Always,” are used to start marital conflicts. Please avoid using these words.

And, “FINE!” doesn’t mean all is well.

I see another problem with the towel on the bed, it’s dripping wet. That we’d have to discuss.

I don’t have that problem as I prefer to go to the bathroom sitting down (which the women of America will love, I bet).

We are and have been – just us. Husband likes to cook and would do so (now not so much). I would do the rest of the inside housework and help with the outside work.

The one household chore I could not get him to learn how to do was the laundry. Then he bought a small loom and started weaving. To finish the process and change from yarns to a piece of fabric the weaving has to be “wet finished” – run through the washer. He now knows how to use the washer and dryer.

I know how to do everything he does around the house – never know when the other will have to do something if one is ill or worse.
