At my age anything beats the alternative.

While there may be some wisdom in those words, those words are usually an invitation to a parent to occupy your time with chores that need to be done. Tread carefully Wilberforce, tread carefully indeed…..

If I had told either of my parents that I was bored, that would have resulted in them finding things for me to do to alleviate my boredom.

Right, Wilbur, take it from a great school hater, boring at home beats boring a school, any day.

With all the stupid games, reality shows, and endless news shows, how can he be bored?

It’s mind boggling what has captured the interests of Americans…if it’s not dumb, outrageous, obnoxious, ratings are not there.

I think we’ve all become accustomed to being spoon fed things all the time. Our imagination has taken a dive and we’re not as creative at finding things to do as we used to. We used to love the long Summer breaks with lots to do, and that was when we only had 4 TV channels, no internet or mobiles and no video games or computers.

having to think is SO tiresome

Boring is just another word for recharging the batteries.

It kind of makes me sad to see all the jokes about kids not wanting to go to school. I guess I’m in the minority, because I loved school, and was always excited about it starting. For most of my career, I’ve worked in school settings as a teacher and then a counselor. It’s where I feel most at home.

That’s how I am feeling about retirement!
