Fred and my dog, Cooper, seem to have a lot in common.

Fred, what a great telepathic capability you have :-D love it! Mr. Dear is wax in your thoughts ;-D

Or perhaps he knows you so well that he knows exactly what you’ll be doing. And since you’re sitting there with a leash in your mouth, sort of obvious you want a walk. I won’t say you don’t have a mental power over him ’cause most dogs do have power over us. Otherwise how do you explain how we indulge their every whim?

There was an episode of the 1970s TV cartoon of Fred Basset which was obviously influenced by this particular strip and others in which Fred appears to influence other characters and events. It was also one of at least three episodes of the TV series in which Fred hypnotises Jock.

Might be passing the Local Pub on the way……….

I was over at a friend’s house on Friday, and all it took to get her taken out was her to sit up for a minute without moving and a sad look. You learn their cues pretty quickly, or you get a puddle on your carpet.

I guess he has just finished reading his paper and decided to walk with Fred.

He walks Fred on a leash, yet Fred is oft seen walking alone and unleashed outside with Jock and associates.
