When I moved out of my 16foot Terry trailer in the mountains (hard times) and started a new job, I had learned to love the simple platform bed of the trailer. So once in my new apartment I built a platform of plywood and added a simple form mat. That was years ago. I still like that style. I replace the foam layer every couple of years. About 1/10 the cost of name brand mattresses that give me backaches.
Still sleep in my late wife and our King Size bed. 16 Months ago she passed away and no one has sit in her recliner yet. She loved it. When I bought it for a Christmas present many years ago she said it was way too big. Almost 7 months she didn’t use it but then had a stroke in 2012. Came home and recliner became her close friend. Electric buttons let her get it just right. Un Huh. The Ole Goat me – became a smart giver. Recliner a great gift for many sick or aged folks or tired workers.
I just bid adieu to my recliner of 20-some years. It was literally falling apart causing me to list at about 20 degrees while being at a fixed 25 degree incline. It made sleeping somewhat challenging. I’ve had to use the recliner for sleep since my bed needs a new mattress. The mattress is the same one I had when I was a teenager. I’m 59 now. I’m getting a fancy new Stressless Reno and boy that wasn’t cheap!
Uncle Ted always brings a smile. It’s too much work for me to move from the recliner to bed so when I fall asleep watching the Guardians or Blue Jackets on the West Coast I just stay put!
The most comfortable chair comparison for a mattress is not a bad place to start with. There should be mattresses made especially for guys. They could even be equipped with sport team logos…..

As a young boy once I slept in a haystack: my best night ever.

Buying a new mattress is one of the hardest purchases you will ever make. Ranks right up there with a new car

Considering all the crossover in merchandising these days, its surprising that La-Z-Boy never made mattresses.

I’d rather have a “just like my couch” mattress.

Ah, one that prevents you from turning over.

Now, if I were to ever go back to sleeping on a flat surface, instead of my sleeping chair, I might want a mattress just like that chair.
