At least they still have the umbrella. I went running in the park today and a woman runner was running with an umbrella (or parasol – silver lightweight reflective material, designed for sun, not rain). First time I’ve ever seen that.
The blowing sand will make Moondog’s beer unpleasantly gritty. “I don’t like sand. It’s coarse and rough and irritating… and it gets everywhere.” — Anakin Skywalker
I forgot to close my patio umbrella one day before I left for work. It got really windy later. Umbrella was gone when I got home. Never did see it again. I hope it didn’t go through somebody’s window or hit a car.
We were on the beach in Maui right before Covid first appeared. I was reading when it became very windy. The sky suddenky darkened which caused me to look up. A beach umbrella was coming at me and the best I could do was turn. The stake still grazed my leg, causing it to bleed slightly, and I felt lucky that it hadn’t hit me in my chest. The couple who lost the umbrella laughed as they retrieved the umbrella, never saying a word.

Way to go. Hot beer is SO delicious. Carried the ice chest for nothing.

I particularly like the depiction of the shirts in the wind in panel 2; very realistic.

Those things are light as a feather. Great point when lugging them to and from the car, but a potential drawback.
