The idea of it keeps me awake, even though I’ve never bought a coffee from those shops.

When beer introduced the microbrew, coffee had to step up the game as well. Introducing: the nanobrew.

Artificial Intelligence is a good research assistant, but it requires adult supervision.

Among some of AI’s recent “accomplishments” are using eatable glue to keep cheese on pizza and that gasoline improves the taste of spaghetti. This all goes to prove that AI is as capable of believing misinformation as people are.

That’s hilarious! Now I will have to go make myself more tea before ChatGPTea gets involved and makes a substance almost but not quite entirely unlike tea for me to drink…

I wish I could frame this and give my boss a copy. Of course, he still believes everything the vendors say about their AI products. So maybe he would be happy to drink some StarBots and ChatGPTea.

Reminds me a little of tiny gremlins. I wouldn’t want tiny gremlins in my food or drink.

AI does have its place. I recommend it to job seekers. I tell them to feed it a job description and then ask the bot to give them a list of questions that may be asked at an interview about the job description. All three of the major players did a good job with this.

The bot can also be used for follow-up. For example, I am a data analyst, one of the bullets in the job description is “assist the CFO in preparing financial statements.” So, I asked the bot, “How does a data analyst assist the CFO in preparing financial statements?” It helped me find experiences in my work history that support this task.

I ask, “What kinds of questions should I ask about this position at the interview?”

I also use AI to do research on the company such as looking up the charities they support, finding news articles about the company and if the company has been involved in any litigation. A dispute over intellectual property is one thing. EEO complaints or wrongful deaths are another.

AI can also research salary surveys and even make recommendations on negotiating tips.

I tried using AI to help write resumes and cover letters. I’ve found that it made good suggestions, but required a lot of rewriting and corrections of assumptions it made on my behalf. I strongly recommend NOT using it “out of the box” for this task.
