Hummingbirds stitch their nests together with repurposed spider web. An amazing design that allows the nest to expand as the chicks grow. They also will weave colored leaves and plant materials into the nest to make it more attractive. We witness this each year with hummingbirds that return and build nests in our porch.

I’m not sure I want to know how scientists learned that it takes sloths 30 days to digest a leaf.

The bird can stitch leaves together? By definition, stitching requires thread.

unfortunately, the Saturniidae is so good at mimicking foliage it often falls prey to leaf eaters

since there are over 2300 species of saturniidae it would help if RBIN specified which one they meant

Does it take a sloth longer if they are married leaves?

I wonder if the sloth’s reaction was when it ate the caterpillar. Its smile turned into a frown. “Bad leaf!”
