    Where I live there are invasive blackberries everywhere and they are all loaded down with fruit this time of year. I regularly stroll out to the front yard for a handful to make blackberry pancakes in the morning, and ditto after work to toss a few in my lemon sparkling water. The plants are quite evil things with sharp thorns and they grow unbelievably fast. But boy are those berries tasty!

    I don’t know about where Red lives, but chances are in East Tennessee that there will be a Rattlesnake or Copperhead hanging around in the Blackberry patch. Long pants and boots are a must. Especially in overgrown areas. Pick at your own risk.
