My brother got into ancestry, until he discovered that a distant relative was murderer and got the electric chair. He lost interest after that.

One of Thorne’s long lost relatives was the “Exchequer of the checker club”.

It has been rumored in my family that one of our ancestors was a horse thief.

Well, there was a lot of inbreeding among the royals, and some insanity as well as strange looks.

Careful Brutus, some of those long lost relatives might come find you and ask for money. As for my family, we don’t have a family tree so much as it’s more ground cover.

Every family has an interesting family tree, Brutus’s included.Wealth, l doubt it. If you could really delve into your History online, that would be cool. However, most are just wasting time. Sort of like fishing. Never know what you might find though . King Brutus is catchy though. Good fishing my friend ….

I enjoy the research even if I only find names and dates. Occasionally I’ll find something interesting. Since I majored in history, I can place their life into the events of the past and imagine at least in part what their lives were like.

When I was volunteer teaching some computer classes to senior citizens, we had a class in genealogy. I took the class (I was new to it and wasn’t ready to teach it) and really enjoyed it. I had free use of the software for quite some time. I enjoyed it. I taught for 10 years there after retiring rather early.

This reminds me of the movie: Kingpin, in particular the part about getting Munsoned in the middle of nowhere. Note to those who have not seen this: the main characters’ last name was Munson, and his dad told him when he was a kid that everyone would associate “Munson” with “winner…” but it turned out to be the opposite.

If you’re related to royalty, should we call you Sir Brutus?
