I never really understood other girls’ (especially freshmen) obsession with wanting to date the senior dudes. Always found it creepy, even while I was in high school…

Well, I suppose that Matt being a friend of Brian assuaged Elly’s worry about Liz riding in a car with an older boy. Which really means nothing—he could still have assaulted both girls! My guess is that he found their “girly” chatter in the back seat so annoying that it killed any desire on his part.

In the first panel, who, or what is first talking. Is that a black squirrel’s tail sitting on top of the girl’s head, that is doing the talking?

No one gets it !? The senior guy, age 17, is doing a favor to his friend… Dawn’s older brother ! The guy only sees them as « the little sister with her friend ». Welcome to the « friend zone »

As a freshman I went on a date with a senior and it was weird. It was also a little creepy. There was 1 and only 1 date. (I was flattered that a senior wanted to take me on a date but he treated my like I was his little sister)

Seniors tend to be better looking, more confident and have money for fun. There is little appealing about 14 year old boys, even to 14 year old girls.

What’s Brian doing in the same class as Elizabeth and Candace?

Didn’t he graduate with Michael and Gordon?

Yeah, you’re gonna be outta your league for a while, but it all changes, not always for the best, but time as always, only moves in 1 direction ! Even rewriting stories from the 90’s ! ;-)

I was too busy surviving. I didn’t finish high school but I got my GED and I did well because there was no drama.

This could be a funny one where Elizabeth looks shocked at the dinner table…

Elly: I just read on the news the cost of public education is going up. The cost of one student is $200 per day.

John: Indeed, only a dingbat would think public school is free. You hear that, Elizabeth? So, how was your day at school? Your mother and I want our $200 worth.

Elly: How was math? Science? Are you concentrating in geography class? Did you register for any sports or extracurricular?

John: Have you, Candace and Dawn been discussing colleges? It is important to think about your future.

Elizabeth has a deer in the headlights look
