Our work canteen is a lot better now, but many years ago they had a snack bar and at lunch times you could get a hot dog or burger from there. One time I asked for a burger and she put a really burnt patty in the bun, looked at it and said “Sorry, that one’s burnt, I’ll give you another patty to make up for it”. Trouble was, they were all burnt! Bonus or not, I wasn’t sure
