Cool here today with a high of 19. (68F). we have a big bowl of homemade Beef barley soup thawing for lunch. First tomato is picked too so Bacon and Tomato sandys for supper.
There is more to our salads than just lettuce and tomato and that’s before we finish dressing it up with olives, raisons, craisons, cheese, bacon bits, shaved almonds and dressing.
In the winter, my wife makes “vegetable slurry.” It’s whatever vegetables are left over from the previous week’s dinners pureed into a thick paste. You can use this stuff to shield nuclear reactors.
I was the guy you did not want to be behind in the break room at work. Heat it for 30 seconds and the exterior is hotter than the surface of the sun. However the interior is still a few degrees above absolute zero. So you heat, stir, heat, stir for about a dozen cycles.
It was worth it. No two batches ever tasted remotely the same, but they all tasted good. They were warm and filling and had enough vitamins to keep an adult going for three weeks.

If you are blessed with a Y chromosome, the seasons are grilled meat or chili con carne.

Soup! The cold doesn’t bother me at all, but hot weather makes me nauseated.
