I envy anyone comfortable enough out of doors to sleep out there. 1. Not without a screen tent 2. Not without bear spray 3. Not without someone else with me.
I used to sun myself 20 minutes a day in my hammock. I think I’m the only one I know who wore his hammock out from use. The fabric split right down the middle when I climbed out of it one day…sigh. Fortunately, it didn’t split while I was dosing. I did have a hammock fall on me one time when I was in it….the knot slipped. That was, indeed, the worst wake up call I’ve ever had. I made it a point to learn to tie a better knot from then on.
A few years back I was taking a walk on Christmas Eve and saw a woman in her hammock. She’d just moved in from Florida. I warned her that Kansas City winters were NOT usually like that.

This has been, in our neck of the woods, a great year for the lack of mosquitoes.

ANY day without rain or snow is a good hammock day!

How did they do that? The online radio station I am listening to is playing “Swingin’ in a Hammock”.
