Doonesbury by Garry Trudeau for May 24, 2009
Transcript:
Jeff: Boss? You okay? What're you doing up here? Havoc: Thinking about our losses. Jeff: Losses? Havoc: Agency personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice here... their names should be remembered and honored alongside those of our fallen heroes in the military. Jeff: True that, boss. Good on you... so who were they? Havoc: I can't tell you.

I told someone, his name is now on the list. Hated to have to kill him, but it’s standard proceedure.

It’s the thought that counts though. (Refering to the comic strip, not Joe Minotaur)

Beautiful art, and a laugh-out-loud punch line. This is why I love Doonesbury.

In and of themselves you are correct but all heroes are not liars and murderers. No matter who they work for.

Secrecy has so many casualties… fortunately humor isn’t one of them in the country I love and will defend until unable to defend.
Tip o’ the Boonie to everyone who served and still stands & for those who stand with the immortals, to fight no more.
Now if only the majority of the American masses gave any thought about anything like this on at least a few other days outta the year… sigh.

Ahh, hthe sad ironies of life. Also note that Afghanistan is truly a beautiful country in its own way, just as Viet Nam is. A heartfelt thanks to ALL my fellow veterans and countrymen who have served in so many ways.

A great strip, but lies and murder are not things to be honored……….. Olfart, the lies and “murder” are usually orchestrated from the top; not by those who are doing their duty.

I think more likely that the boss couldn’t tell his son who they are. too many names on the list who served to fight for the great beloved and freedom country! Wish y’all a great Memorial Day!

Olfart and Pouncingtiger have missed the point of the strip. I won’t waste my time explaining it to them.
