I broke my elbow on the first day of school in 6th grade. I had a bent arm cast from knuckles to armpit on my right arm. I used a knitting needle to scratch the itches. You don’t realize how much you need to use both arms until one of them gets imprisoned in plaster of Paris!
I was told once I was going to get a cast. I said I can’t have one because if you put one on, I will go home and saw it off. I have claustrophobia and I would feel crushed in it. I was just being honest. We finally agreed on a half-cast of plastic and gauze wrapped around it. It was on my arm. It was awful – not the pain, the desire to cut it off was there constantly! Luckily, I only needed it for less than two weeks. (I did not have a broken bone.) I can handle a removable cast, as I had on with my broken ankle a few years ago. As long as I believe I can remove it, I can deal with it.

Which leads to the chewing of cast stage. I see a cone of shame in Buckles future.

That’s the worst thing that can happen to anyone when you’re wearing a cast.

Buckles ask Paul to use compressed air to ease the itching. Been there, full leg cast, compressed air, Oh what a relief it was.
Maybe Flea can scratch the itch for ya

I had a cast on my foot (up to the knee) post operation for 6 weeks…luckily, I never got the itchies.
