My wife and I moved to an adjoining state a little over two years ago. We wanted to get the Real ID drivers licenses like we had in the state we were moving from. You would have thought that since one state had checked us out and approved us for Real ID DL’s that the adjoining state would take that into account and make it easy for us to get DL’s from our new state. Nope. They wanted paperwork (birth certificates, SS #’s, marriage licenses, divorce decrees, etc.). It took me three trips to the DMV office before they would approve my DL and my wife made SEVEN trips to the DMV office before they would approve hers.
