Will the wedding bells ring for Red and Ruby? Maybe so but that will be outside of the timeline of this strip. For the moment, Red seems to see her as a friend and not a girlfriend. He said to Rover before the summer break, “Girlfriend!? Who said anything about a girlfriend!?”

Red, definitely don’t play tether ball with Ruby. She might knock your block off. Ha

We used to wear shorts under our skirt for this purpose!

Check out Ruby’s shoes—they look like the saddle shoes that I, and later my daughter, wore for school! Part of the uniform in private and parochial schools. (Boys wore brown shoes.)

In grammar school when the girls would play on the monkey bars at recess the boys would watch and call it the undies show.
